How to install wallpapers

Step by step guide

Here you can learn how to hang up our wallpaper rolls. Wall murals installation guide is here

Tools you will need

  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Spirit level or plumb line (to alight wallpaper lengths perfectly vertically)
  • Wallpapering tool (or brush)
  • Bucket for the glue
  • Roller (and tray)
  • Paintbrush (for the places not reachable by the roller, e.g. corners)
  • Soft sponge (or cloth to remove glue from wallpapers)
  • Knife (to cut excessive wallpaper)

1. Make sure your rolls are not defective or damaged. All the rolls must have same color and the pattern on the edges should fit together.

2. Prepare the walls. The walls must be smooth, clean and dry. Fill any holes, remove old wallpaper. Base coat the wall with paint if it has strong color changes (otherwise those colors might be visible through the wallpaper). Remove switches and other objects that may be in the way. Be sure to turn off the power before starting.

3. Mark the walls. Start from the left corner. Be sure to hang the first length vertically straight. Tip: use a spirit-level or a string with a weight (a plumb bob) and draw a vertical line along the wall with a pencil where the first length ends. Try to line up the first length against the line.

4. Glue on the wall. Use only paste/glue suitable for non-woven wallpapers. Pre-glue the wall if it is highly absorbent (for example plaster walls). Since our wallpapers are non-woven, apply the glue directly to the walls. No need to glue the wallpaper. Be sure to evenly glue the entire surface and no spots are missed (otherwise it can cause bubbles). Also put the glue to area wider than 1 length.

5. Pull up the wallpaper and attach it to the wall starting from the ceiling molding. Make sure the edges fit together. Smooth with wallpaper tool (from the ceiling to the floor and from the center out to the edges). Carefully wipe the glue from the surface of wallpapers with a wet sponge. Cut off any excess along the ceiling and floor.

The glue should dry at normal temperature in a well ventilated room for around 24 hours.
